A law firm in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Junior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience as a trademark practitioner. The ideal candidate must possess superior analytical skills, exceptional academic credentials, and excellent oral, writing, and interpersonal skills. Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction is required for this position.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough trademark searches and analyses to assess the availability and registrability of trademarks.
  • Prepare and file trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Manage and maintain trademark portfolios, including monitoring and enforcement of trademark rights.
  • Draft and negotiate various trademark-related agreements, such as licensing agreements and coexistence agreements.
  • Assist in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on trademark clearance, protection, and enforcement strategies.
  • Conduct legal research on trademark law and related intellectual property issues.
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop and execute effective trademark strategies.
  • Handle additional trademark-related tasks and projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Bar of California or eligibility for Bar admission via reciprocity.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a trademark practitioner, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of trademark law, procedures, and best practices.
  • Experience conducting trademark searches and preparing applications for filing.
  • Proficiency in managing trademark portfolios and enforcing trademark rights.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in trademark analysis and strategy.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills for client interactions and legal drafting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate with colleagues.
