Class Action and Data Privacy Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Class Action and Data Privacy Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL. The attorney will be responsible for legal research, drafting pleadings, taking and defending depositions, drafting and answering discovery, class motions and discovery, and preparing cases for trial. They will assist with trial preparation and demonstrate a strong understanding and competency in State and Federal court rules and procedures, CAFA, BIPA, and other data privacy laws. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills to manage a varied caseload and strong writing skills to effectively communicate with the court, clients, and opposing counsel.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
• Take and defend depositions
• Assist with trial preparation
• Prepare cases for trial
• Draft and answer discovery requests
• Handle class motions and discovery

Requirements:

• Juris doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
• Bar admission in the State of Illinois
• 5+ years of class action litigation experience
• Familiarity with class action, cybersecurity, and data privacy litigation, including BIPA
• Very strong understanding and competency of State and Federal court rules and procedures
• Knowledge of CAFA and other relevant data privacy laws
