The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing various legal documents such as wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, deeds, and probate petitions. This role involves conducting legal research, communicating with clients, collaborating with other attorneys, and supporting the firm's estate planning practice. The Estate Planning Associate Attorney must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to the State Bar of California.

 

Job Overview

The Estate Planning Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in the firm's estate planning practice, working closely with clients to develop comprehensive estate plans and legal solutions. This position offers the opportunity to engage in diverse estate planning matters and contribute to the success of the clients' future planning needs.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare a variety of legal documents, including wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, deeds, and probate petitions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare research memorandums.
  • Communicate with clients through phone and email correspondence, providing updates and guidance.
  • Collaborate with and support other attorneys within the firm on estate planning matters.
  • Assist clients in understanding complex legal issues related to estate planning.
  • Manage deadlines effectively and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate case records and files.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • Experience drafting legal documents such as trusts, wills, pleadings, motions, and research memorandums.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in-depth legal research and analysis.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Experience in estate planning is preferred.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
