A law firm in Phoenix is seeking a Mid-level Chemical Science Patent Prosecution Patent Agent to contribute to the delivery of quality legal services to clients. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of academic achievement, substantial law firm or industry experience, and exceptional writing and communication skills. The primary responsibilities include drafting patent applications and responding to USPTO communications, supporting attorneys in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare draft patent applications in the field of chemical science, with a focus on organic chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Draft responses to communications from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services to clients.
  • Perform highly complex and sensitive client work, demonstrating a high level of professional capability and skill.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • Solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience.
  • Superb writing and communication skills.
  • Admission to the USPTO is required.

 

Education:

Degree in organic chemistry or chemical engineering.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
