A law firm in Beverly Hills, CA, is seeking an Attorney to represent tenants in legal disputes against landlords, property management companies, and other entities. The ideal candidate will advocate for tenants' rights, manage a caseload of tenant rights cases, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, provide legal counsel and representation to clients, and advocate for clients' interests in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings. Strong advocacy skills, previous experience in tenant rights law or related areas, and fluency in relevant laws and regulations governing tenant-landlord relationships are required.

 

Duties:

  • Represent tenants in legal disputes against landlords, property management companies, and other entities
  • Advocate for the rights of tenants and ensure fair treatment under housing laws and regulations
  • Manage a caseload of tenant rights cases, including eviction defense, lease disputes, habitability issues, and discrimination claims
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to tenants throughout the legal process
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand concerns, explain legal options, and develop case strategies
  • Advocate for clients' interests in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings
  • Present oral arguments effectively and persuasively
  • Cross-examine witnesses and respond to opposing counsel's arguments
  • Analyze relevant laws, regulations, and precedents to assess case strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop creative legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Stay up-to-date on developments in tenant rights law and relevant legal precedents
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients
  • Work closely with advocacy organizations and community groups to support tenants' rights initiatives

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar and in good standing
  • Previous experience in tenant rights law or related areas such as housing law, landlord-tenant law, or civil litigation
  • Strong advocacy skills, including oral and written communication, negotiation, and courtroom presentation
  • Fluency in relevant laws and regulations governing tenant-landlord relationships
