A law firm in Gold River, CA, is seeking a Civil Litigation Trial Associate Attorney to join their team.

 

Job Overview:

  • The candidate will primarily handle public entity defense cases, with preferred experience in civil rights/law enforcement and/or employment law.
  • Appellate experience is preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills are required, along with the ability to handle case assignments and conduct trials with minimal supervision.

 

Duties:

  • Handle public entity defense cases, with a focus on civil rights/law enforcement and/or employment law.
  • Conduct appellate work as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Prepare for and conduct trials.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery and motion practice.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in all aspects of litigation.
  • Experience in public entity defense preferred.
  • Experience in civil rights/law enforcement and/or employment law preferred.
  • Appellate experience preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to handle case assignments with minimal supervision.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California.

 

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle trials with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in discovery and motion practice.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Appellate experience is a plus.
