A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in civil litigation, with a focus on construction defect defense, insurance coverage, and workers' compensation. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a substantial caseload, handling various legal tasks, and contributing to the firm's success in state and federal courts.

Job Details: Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, preparing, and handling pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
  • Drafting and responding to written discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Conducting legal research competently and with proficiency.
  • Preparing and taking depositions of parties and experts.
  • Reviewing client documents, drafting case evaluations, and preparing status report correspondence.
  • Assisting with and participating in mediations and court appearances.


  • 3-4 years of experience in the defense of civil litigation.
  • Experience in construction defect defense, insurance coverage, and workers' compensation is a plus.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Arizona state and federal courts.
  • Additional state admissions, including California, are a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple case files successfully in a busy environment.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to move efficiently from case to case.
  • Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.


  • Litigation experience in civil matters.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
