Family Attorney

A law firm in Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking a Family Attorney with experience in handling various family law issues, including divorce, spousal support, child custody/support, domestic violence, and real estate matters. The ideal candidate will be a skilled negotiator and communicator, capable of effectively advocating for clients in emotionally charged situations.

Job Duties:

• Prepare strategies with clients and oversee the preparation of legal documents for divorce, spousal support, and child custody/support cases.
• Handle legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with clients, focusing on efficiently progressing cases.
• Analyze client situations, understand their needs, and create strategic plans of action to solve legal problems.
• Divide marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
• Attend court proceedings to represent clients when necessary.
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.
• Advocate for plaintiffs and defendants, demonstrating a proven record of success.
• Provide extra consideration for candidates with a background in criminal justice.
• Maintain active membership in the American Bar Association (ABA).

Requirements:

1-2 years of experience working in a law firm on family law issues, as well as real estate matters related to determining marital property.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active membership in the American Bar Association (ABA).
