Mid-level Chemical Science Patent Prosecution Patent Agent

A law firm in Kansas City is seeking a qualified Mid-level Chemical Science Patent Prosecution Patent Agent. The candidate will be responsible for performing highly complex and sensitive client work, including the preparation of patent applications and responses to USPTO communications. The ideal candidate should have a high level of academic achievement, solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, superb writing and communication skills, and a degree in organic chemistry or chemical engineering. Advanced degrees in these fields are preferred, and admission to the USPTO is required.

Duties:

• Prepare draft patent applications.
• Draft responses to communications from the USPTO.
• Perform highly complex and sensitive client work requiring professional capability and skill.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Degree in organic chemistry or chemical engineering.
• Advanced degrees in these fields are preferred.
• Admission to the USPTO is required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in organic chemistry or chemical engineering.
• Advanced degrees in these fields are preferred.

Certifications:

Admission to practice before the USPTO.

Skills:
