General Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Hermosa Beach, CA, is seeking a General Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing clients in court, handling depositions, preparing cases for trial, and defending challenging litigation involving various claims. The role also involves client communication, case reporting, and collaboration with partners to support client development and marketing efforts.

Duties:

• Represent clients in court, advocating for their interests in various litigation matters.
• Conduct depositions, including expert witnesses, when appropriate for the associate's level of experience.
• Prepare cases for trial and provide assistance during trials based on the associate's level of experience.
• Defend challenging cases, including those related to consumer claims, breach of contract, general negligence, and other tort claims.
• Update clients through case reporting and telephone conferences regarding significant developments in litigation.
• Support client development and marketing efforts by collaborating with partners.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
• Bar admission in the State of California.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Organizational skills to effectively manage a varied caseload.
• Strong writing skills for effective communication with the court, clients, and opposing counsel.
• Ability to run cases independently with partner input and supervision.
• Preferred experience with both state and federal courts.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver strong work product.
• Effective communication skills with clients and colleagues.

Education:

• Juris doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar admission in the State of California.
