A law firm seeks a Senior Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join their team. This full-time position offers hybrid work opportunities for candidates near their offices in Houston, The role involves delivering precise legal solutions and mentoring junior attorneys.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough title examinations for oil and gas properties.
  • Review deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
  • Draft title opinions highlighting defects or issues impacting property ownership.
  • Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions.
  • Advise clients on legal risks and strategies for mitigating issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements.
  • Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local oil and gas laws.
  • Mentor junior associates and foster a collaborative culture.
  • Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience drafting title opinions.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and mentoring attorneys.
  • Familiarity with preparing large division order ownerships.
  • Strong commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Growth mindset with a passion for professional development.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
