A respected national civil litigation firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice group in Boston, Massachusetts. Duties

  • Conduct file reviews and perform detailed legal analysis of workers’ compensation claims.

  • Perform extensive legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs.

  • Represent clients at depositions and hearings before the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation Board.

  • Manage trial preparation and attend hearings and trials.

  • Retain, collaborate with, and evaluate expert witnesses.

  • Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1,950 hours.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience practicing law, preferably in workers' compensation.

  • Strong ability to manage caseloads independently while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

  • Responsiveness to emails and phone communications in a professional and timely manner.

  • Strong client interaction skills and professional telephone demeanor.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in the State of Massachusetts.

  • Admission in Connecticut is a plus but not required.
