Duties

• Defend school districts in employment-related lawsuits, including wrongful termination and discrimination claims.
• Handle disputes with agencies like the EEOC and state education departments.
• Advise school boards and HR departments on complex employment laws.
• Develop legal strategies to mitigate risks in labor disputes and contract negotiations.
• Review and draft employment policies for school districts.
• Provide training to school district leadership on legal compliance and best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of school district defense experience.
• Jury trial and civil court trial experience preferred.
• Experience with public entity defense is a plus.
• Member of the State Bar of California in good standing.

Education

• Bachelor's degree.
• Juris Doctor degree.

Certifications
