A law firm in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Real Estate Closing Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will oversee residential and commercial real estate transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role involves working closely with lenders, brokers, agents, buyers, and sellers to facilitate transactions and deliver exceptional client service. The firm is looking for someone with strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to cultivate business relationships.

 

Duties:

  • Oversee residential and commercial real estate transactions, including sales and refinances, within the office.
  • Review titles to ensure clear ownership and identify any potential issues.
  • Collaborate with lenders, brokers, agents, buyers, and sellers to facilitate smooth real estate transactions.
  • Draft and/or review legal documents such as contracts, deeds, leases, and purchase and sale agreements.
  • Deliver a professional and engaging experience to clients, addressing any questions or concerns during closings.
  • Review and manage the disbursement ledger, signing checks for accurate and timely payments.
  • Develop and cultivate business relationships to grow the firm's real estate client base.
  • Conduct training sessions for potential clients on relevant areas of real estate law.

 

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the South Carolina Bar.
  • Preferably have experience in closing real estate transactions.
  • Residential real estate experience preferred; however, the firm is willing to train the right candidate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Member of the South Carolina State Bar (in good standing).

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in overseeing residential and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Strong ability to review and interpret titles for property ownership.
  • Skill in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts and deeds.
