Job Overview

A prominent civil defense litigation firm with a strong trial record and growing client base is seeking a Litigation Attorney for its office in Irvine, California (with additional opportunities in San Diego). The firm handles a variety of complex litigation matters including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, commercial liability, HOA disputes, and construction defect. Duties

• Manage litigation cases from responsive pleadings through trial

• Propound and respond to discovery requests

• Review and summarize medical records

• Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts

• Attend court hearings and case management conferences

• Prepare and argue motions and oppositions

• Draft and submit case status reports to insurance carriers

• Assist with trial preparation and support

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience

• Prior insurance defense experience preferred but not required

• Ability to manage a caseload independently under partner supervision

• Demonstrated ability to handle court appearances and depositions

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing (required)

Skills

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

• Strong litigation skills, including discovery and deposition practice

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

• Trial preparation experience or strong interest in trial work
