Job Title: Attorney – Insurance Defense, Insurance Coverage And Litigation

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Princeton, NJ, is seeking a dedicated and experienced attorney to handle civil litigation matters related to insurance defense, coverage disputes, and various claims. The position involves representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as before state agencies, on issues including negligence claims, employment practices, construction accidents, and liability cases. This role offers the opportunity for a mix of in-office and remote work.

Duties:

  • Defend a wide variety of lawsuits, including negligence claims, employment practices, and premises liability.
  • Handle both first- and third-party insurance litigation and claims.
  • Represent clients in federal and state courts, as well as before state agencies.
  • Manage cases involving public entities and construction-related accidents.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients in complex insurance matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation or arbitration when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense and coverage litigation.
  • Proven ability to handle cases in state and federal courts.
  • Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work under pressure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in insurance defense, including first- and third-party claims.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations concerning insurance and litigation.
  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
