Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Digital Risk Advisory And Cybersecurity Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of experience. The candidate will focus on proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters, providing counsel on data security incidents, regulatory investigations, and contractual/legal obligations related to security.

Duties:

  • Advise on privacy and security obligations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligations.
  • Defend regulatory investigations related to privacy and security matters.
  • Handle matters related to complying with contractual and legal obligations related to security.
  • Conduct legal research on data privacy and security laws.
  • Effectively interact with technically skilled individuals and distill key issues and findings for non-technical business team members.
  • Collaborate with a legal team on privacy and cybersecurity breach response work.
  • Demonstrate exceptional project management skills in handling a fast-paced, complex workload.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience advising on privacy and security obligations, data security incident notification obligations, and defending regulatory investigations.
  • Law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response experience is preferred.
  • Litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in privacy and cybersecurity breach response work is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in privacy and cybersecurity (preferred).

Skills:

  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Awareness of data privacy and security laws.
  • Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
  • Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations.
