Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a Junior Healthcare Regulatory Associate with 2–3 years of experience to join its healthcare regulatory group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory matters affecting the healthcare and life sciences industries, including fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA compliance, corporate practice of medicine, reimbursement issues, licensing, and regulatory due diligence for healthcare transactions. This position also includes exposure to counseling digital health and telehealth clients. The role involves working closely with private equity and M&A teams and may include interaction with government agencies such as CMS, OCR, DOJ, or FDA.

Duties

  • Advise clients in the healthcare and life sciences industries on federal and state regulatory compliance

  • Conduct regulatory due diligence and structuring for corporate transactions

  • Provide counsel on HIPAA, fraud and abuse, licensing, and reimbursement regulations

  • Support private equity and M&A transactions involving healthcare entities

  • Draft and review legal memoranda and client communications

  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients on telehealth and digital health matters

  • Stay up to date on evolving regulations affecting healthcare and life sciences

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of relevant healthcare regulatory experience

  • Prior experience at a large law firm (AmLaw 100 preferred)

  • Experience advising on healthcare transactions, particularly in the private equity or investment context

  • Familiarity with CMS, OCR, DOJ, or FDA processes is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Washington, DC, Illinois, or New York

  • Additional state admissions are a plus

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks (fraud and abuse, HIPAA, licensing, etc.)

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
