Job Overview:
A well-established and respected law firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate or Of Counsel Attorney with at least seven years of litigation experience to join its Trial & Litigation Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes matters, including eminent domain cases, in a collaborative environment across multiple California offices. The position is ideal for attorneys with a passion for litigation strategy, constitutional law, and trial preparation.

Location:

  • San Diego, CA

Duties:

  • Handle complex litigation matters from inception through resolution

  • Develop and execute litigation strategies, including nuanced constitutional and land use arguments

  • Draft and argue dispositive and other law and motion matters in state and federal court

  • Take and defend depositions; conduct witness interviews

  • Assist in trial preparation, including developing evidence and trial strategy

  • Collaborate across offices and practice groups in a team-oriented setting

  • Represent public entities and private clients in high-profile disputes

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, including trial and law & motion practice

  • Demonstrated success in complex case strategy and execution

  • Experience with eminent domain and/or public entity representation (preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative legal team

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-stakes matters

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar (required)

Skills:

  • Outstanding legal research, analytical, and writing abilities

  • Strong oral advocacy and presentation skills

  • Experience building cases for trial, including fact development and legal argumentation

  • Familiarity with both state and federal litigation procedures

  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively
