Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate for its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice in Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials and a minimum of two years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and the administration of equity plans.

Duties

  • Advise on employee benefit issues in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Draft and negotiate executive employment, retention, and separation agreements.
  • Design, implement, and administer equity plans and nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Provide guidance on ERISA plan investments.
  • Assist in the design and administration of qualified retirement plans and health and welfare programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of law firm experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and financings.
  • Familiarity with ERISA plan investments preferred.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans and health and welfare programs preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
