A law firm based in Washington, DC, is actively seeking a skilled Litigation - Connectivity, Privacy, and Information (Copyright) Associate Attorney. The firm seeks a candidate with a strong litigation background focusing on connectivity, privacy, and information law, particularly in copyright matters.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle a diverse caseload involving litigation related to connectivity, privacy, and information law, with an emphasis on copyright disputes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft various legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Assist in all phases of discovery, including electronic discovery, document review, and preparation of discovery requests and responses.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on matters related to connectivity, privacy, and copyright law.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and tactics.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation involving connectivity, privacy, and information law, particularly copyright issues.
  • Strong understanding of copyright law, including digital copyright issues and fair use principles.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in technology litigation or intellectual property law.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations, cybersecurity issues, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience managing complex litigation cases from inception to resolution.
