Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Newark, NJ. The attorney will manage high-value cases in both state and federal courts, handling all aspects from pre-trial preparation to trial and post-trial motions. This role requires a proactive approach to client representation and case management.

Duties

  • Meet with clients and file lawsuits.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Schedule and attend fact witness depositions.
  • Retain and attend depositions of all appropriate experts.
  • Schedule and attend all hearings.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations.
  • Prepare cases for trial and try cases to verdict.
  • Prepare and file appropriate post-trial motions.
  • Attend file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.

Requirements

  • A license in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Experience as a Personal Injury Litigator.
  • A proven track record of winning, including at least 2 jury trials as first chair.
  • Ability to handle a large and active caseload from filing through verdict.
  • Success in providing direction and guidance to a team of staff.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

  • A strong courtroom presence and eagerness to try cases.
