Civil Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Wethersfield, CT is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for defending and prosecuting personal injury, property damage, and insurance coverage litigation. Excellent research and writing skills are required for this role.

Duties:

• Defend and prosecute cases involving personal injury, property damage, and insurance coverage.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Manage cases from inception to resolution.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
• Review and analyze discovery materials.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and legal issues.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Strong case management skills.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Admitted to practice law in Connecticut.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Connecticut State Bar.
