Patent Agent

A law firm is seeking a patent agent for its Los Angeles, CA, location.

Job Overview:

The Patent Agent will be responsible for drafting patent applications and other legal documents, coordinating with inventors and clients, conducting prior art searches, and staying updated with patent laws to assist clients effectively.

Duties:

• Draft patent applications and legal documents throughout the patent prosecution process with the USPTO and foreign patent offices.
• Take invention disclosures and facilitate communication with inventors and clients.
• Conducted and analyzed results of prior art searches.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest patent laws to support the draft of legal documents.

Requirements:

• Degree and experience in biophysics, biomedical engineering, computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or AI/ML (advanced degree preferred).
• 3 years of experience as a registered Patent Agent, with 5+ years preferred.
• Experience managing clients as a first point of contact.
