Job Title: Junior Restructuring and Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

Job Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Job Overview:
A leading law firm located in Boston is actively seeking a Junior Restructuring and Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its dynamic and expanding team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a nationally recognized distressed high-yield bond workout (DHYBOW) practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in bankruptcy law and the chance to engage with ad hoc bondholder groups and trustees in diverse distressed situations.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in restructuring and bankruptcy matters, primarily focusing on distressed high-yield bond workouts.
  • Handle cases involving secured lenders, bankruptcy litigation, and receivership court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys from various offices across the country on complex legal matters.
  • Assist in managing distressed situations across a wide range of market sectors, affecting assets nationwide.
  • Travel for case-related matters and client meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-3 years of general bankruptcy experience, preferably with experience representing secured lenders.
  • Practical experience in bankruptcy litigation and/or receivership court is highly desired.
  • Exposure to high-yield tax-exempt debt markets is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Massachusetts (or eligibility to waive into Massachusetts).

Skills:

  • Strong background in bankruptcy law and restructuring.
  • Experience in high-stakes negotiations and litigation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle a fast-paced workload.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills.
