Associate Attorney needed for Albuquerque office

A law firm seeking an Associate Attorney:

Job Overview: Under the direction of several attorneys, this position is responsible for performing a wide range of professional, timely, competent, and cost-effective legal services to the firm’s clients. The ideal candidate will have an interest in Business and Corporate Law with 1-3 years of experience, whether it be educational or working knowledge. Tax Law knowledge is also preferred.

Duties:

• Learn, understand, and retain facts and issues related to assigned cases
• Pay close attention to detail and anticipate important tasks
• Review and draft a variety of documents and schedules
• Analyze and apply statutory law to relevant facts
• Work with several attorneys on complex matters

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in New Mexico
• Excellent legal writing, research, and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and prioritizing abilities
• Strong work ethic and self-starting nature
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality
• Ability to use initiative and good judgment in working independently as well as in a team
• Ability to work with others, including staff and attorneys
• Willingness to learn from mentors and implement their feedback

Preferred:

• Tax or Business experience

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New Mexico
