A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a qualified Mid-Level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, solid law firm or industry experience, and exceptional writing and communication skills. The primary focus of this role is patent preparation and prosecution, emphasizing medical devices and mechanical products.

Duties:

• Conduct patent searches, analyze prior art, and provide strategic advice on patentability and freedom-to-operate issues.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.
• Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and clients to understand the technical aspects of inventions.
• Participate in patent portfolio management, including analyzing and advising on portfolio strategies.
• Provide legal support and counsel on intellectual property matters related to medical devices and mechanical products.
• Conduct due diligence on intellectual property issues for mergers, acquisitions, and licensing transactions.
• Stay updated on relevant legal and industry developments.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
• Other engineering disciplines, coupled with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products, will be considered.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO.
