A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team in Lafayette, LA. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to practice law in the various State and Federal Courts of Louisiana. Certificate(s) of Good Standing from appropriate governing bodies are required.

Job Overview:

  • Provide high-quality and cost-effective legal representation to clients in Defense Litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Handle case intake, including initial client meetings and assessments.
  • Develop and manage case budgets.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients.
  • Prepare and file legal documents.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and settlements.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motions practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft appellate briefs and argue cases on appeal when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records and reports.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the various State and Federal Courts of Louisiana.
  • Certificate(s) of Good Standing from appropriate governing bodies.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
