A law firm in Edwardsville is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience, preferably with personal injury or asbestos exposure experience. The candidate will be responsible for representing clients injured by asbestos, working on assigned asbestos disease cases, conducting depositions, and interacting with clients and witnesses. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, and the ability to travel across the United States is necessary.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients injured by exposure to asbestos.
  • Prepare assigned asbestos disease cases in a team environment.
  • Travel to meet clients, potential clients, and other witnesses across the United States.
  • Conduct client and witness interviews, both in person and on the phone.
  • Gather and analyze information from various records, including Social Security, Medical, Military, and Union records.
  • Prepare and conduct depositions of fact witnesses.
  • Summarize testimony from fact witness depositions.
  • Utilize personal injury or asbestos experience.
  • Handle legal procedures and processes regarding case sign-ups, depositions, and testimony.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of legal experience.
  • Personal injury or asbestos exposure experience.
  • Legal procedures and processes knowledge.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Licensed to practice law in any state, with Missouri and/or Illinois licensure preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • MS Office Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
