A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Structured Finance Associate Attorney for its Houston office. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal support and expertise in structured finance, lending, securitization, and related finance structures. The ideal candidate should have strong deal experience, with a focus on various asset types and structures. Admission to the State Bar is a prerequisite for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and review legal documents related to structured finance transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on complex financial matters.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for structured finance deals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting structured finance.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in structured finance at a law firm.
  • Strong deal experience with a focus on lending, securitization, or similar finance structures.
  • Knowledge of a variety of asset types and structures in the finance sector.

 

Certifications:

  • State Bar admission is mandatory.
  • Additional certifications in finance or related fields are a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
