Job Title: Patent Agent

Job Overview:
A law firm in Dallas, TX, seeks a dynamic Patent Agent to join their team. The Patent Agent will primarily focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and analyzing freedom-to-operate analyses in AI technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields, expertise in AI/ML theory and practical experience in AI model development and deployment.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with inventors to evaluate new AI technologies for patentability.
  • Conduct prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Stay updated on the latest AI technology advancements and patent laws.
  • Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
  • Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML theory, including backpropagation, regularization, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with preprocessing data, selecting features, and training/tuning models.
  • Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
  • Registered to practice with the USPTO.
  • Active member and in good standing of TX Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
