A law firm in Fairfax is seeking an Education Law Associate Attorney to represent school boards, administrators, teachers, and other school employees in administrative proceedings and state/federal trial and appellate courts. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic credentials, excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills. Judicial clerkship experience is a plus, and candidates with private practice experience or trial-level experience are preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Represent school boards, administrators, teachers, and other school employees in administrative proceedings.
  • Handle cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts related to education law matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on education law issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Assist in case management and strategy development.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar.
  • Strong academic credentials.

 

Experience:

  • Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Private practice experience or trial-level experience preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
