Job Overview: A national civil litigation and insurance defense firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team. This remote, full-time position offers the opportunity to handle personal injury and insurance defense cases, with a focus on civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in insurance defense, including trial preparation, depositions, oral arguments, and settlements.
Location:
Paramus, NJ
Duties:
Manage and litigate insurance defense cases, including personal injury and other civil matters.
Handle cases through trial, including taking depositions, conducting oral arguments, and attending hearings.
Negotiate settlements and communicate case developments to clients.
Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and other necessary filings.
Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Maintain detailed case files and ensure deadlines are met.
Requirements:
3-10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
Proven experience with civil litigation, including trial preparation, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team.
Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey (required); licensure in New York is a plus.
Additional state licensure is a plus.
Education:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active membership in the New Jersey Bar (required).
New York Bar membership (preferred).
Additional state bar certifications are a plus.
Skills:
Strong litigation experience in insurance defense, particularly in personal injury matters.
Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage a full caseload and work efficiently under pressure.
Ability to negotiate settlements and communicate effectively with clients.
Strong attention to detail and case management skills.
