Job Overview

A New York City-based law firm is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with significant experience in mortgage foreclosure matters. This partner-level opportunity is ideal for a legal professional who is ready to take ownership of a foreclosure caseload, contribute to firm leadership, and bring an existing book of business to a supportive and resource-rich environment. The position offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid work with access to office space in the Financial District.

Duties

• Take full responsibility for managing mortgage foreclosure cases from initiation through conclusion

• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

• Represent clients in hearings, trials, depositions, and other court proceedings

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding legal strategies and case progress

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and support staff to ensure timely and efficient case management

• Conduct legal research to support litigation strategy

• Utilize case management systems to track deadlines and ensure compliance

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in New York

• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in mortgage foreclosure litigation

• Familiarity with legal practice management tools such as LPS/Black Knight and Tempo

• Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload independently

• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

• Must possess an existing book of business

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required)

• New Jersey Bar admission (preferred)
