Job Title: Surety/ Construction Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Frisco, TX, is seeking a litigation attorney with a minimum of five years' experience to join its growing fidelity, surety, and construction practice group. The team handles complex litigation in both state and federal courts, provides advisory services, resolves disputes, and drafts and negotiates a wide range of contracts. This opportunity offers a collaborative, client-centered environment and the chance to work alongside leading professionals in the construction and surety fields.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate construction-related disputes in both state and federal courts

  • Provide strategic advice regarding surety bonds, construction contracts, and related matters

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various construction documents and agreements

  • Represent clients in dispute resolution proceedings, including mediation and arbitration

  • Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, and handle case management

  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, consultants, and clients to develop effective case strategies

  • Assist in counseling clients on risk management and contract compliance issues

Requirements:

  • Active license and good standing with the Texas Bar

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably within construction or surety law

  • Familiarity with construction disputes, mechanics’ liens, and contract drafting preferred

  • Strong ability to work within a collaborative, team-focused environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

  • Commitment to high-quality client service and professional excellence

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas Bar (mandatory)

  • Outstanding analytical, research, and drafting skills

  • Ability to negotiate effectively and resolve disputes creatively
