Job Overview:
A law firm located in Longview, TX is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to support its property tax litigation practice. This role involves handling delinquent property tax matters, offering legal representation to local government entities, and developing client and community relationships. Duties:

• Handle a docket of property tax collection cases on behalf of local governments

• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings

• Negotiate settlements and develop legal strategies to resolve disputes efficiently

• Interpret applicable statutes and advise municipal clients on compliance and enforcement issues

• Draft legal pleadings, motions, and correspondence

• Collaborate with firm attorneys and staff to ensure timely case resolution

• Attend meetings with community stakeholders and public officials

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

• 1-2 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in litigation or municipal law

• Strong legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills

• Ability to manage a varied caseload with attention to detail and efficiency

• Strong interpersonal skills for client and community engagement

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• State Bar of Texas licensure in good standing
