Job Title: Litigation Of Counsel
Location: Boston, MA

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a Litigation Of Counsel with extensive experience to oversee various aspects of litigation cases, including client communication, supervision of associates, case strategy development, and drafting legal documents. The ideal candidate will possess superior research, analytical, and writing skills and a science background, preferably in MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology. Direct experience in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation, particularly in pharmaceutical and medical device industries, is highly desirable. The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong project management skills and attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties verbally and in writing.
  • Supervise associates and guide case-related tasks.
  • Work with experts to develop case strategies and gather necessary information.
  • Assist with fact development, depositions, and other litigation-related activities.
  • Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and respond to correspondence promptly.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality work product.
  • Meet deadlines and perform assigned duties efficiently.
  • Foster positive work relationships and comply with firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer and participating in digital/virtual conferences and meetings.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Direct experience in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
  • Science background in MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Experience with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
