A law firm in Phoenix is seeking a skilled Municipal Law Associate Attorney with a strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess experience in municipal government, although this is not required. They should excel in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and issue resolution. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, client service, and effective management of internal and external relationships with clients and counsel.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on municipal law issues and provide counsel to clients.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and agreements.
  • Represent clients in municipal court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Assist in advising municipal clients on land use and zoning matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of municipal laws, regulations, and trends.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with local ordinances and regulations.
  • Handle legal matters related to public finance and municipal bonds.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Arizona State Bar or ability to waive in.
  • 2-10 years of experience in municipal law or municipal litigation.
  • Strong business and entrepreneurial sense.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and issue resolution abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and client service.
  • Previous experience in municipal government is a plus.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Arizona State Bar or ability to waive in.

 

Skills:

  • Previous experience in municipal government (preferred but not required).
  • Strong business and entrepreneurial sense.
  • Excellent communication skills.
