A law firm is seeking a Water Law Attorney for their office in Fresno, CA.

Job Overview:

The Water Law Attorney will provide expert legal counsel on various water rights matters, including adjudications, compliance, and litigation. The role involves representing clients in water-related disputes and collaborating with public agencies for water supply and conservation agreements.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on water rights matters, including adjudications, water transfers, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist clients in navigating environmental laws and regulations related to water quality, wetlands, and habitat preservation.
  • Represent clients in water-related disputes, including negotiations, mediation, and litigation if necessary.
  • Collaborate with public agencies and stakeholders to develop agreements for water supply, conservation, and infrastructure development.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of water-related issues to provide clients with informed recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public agency clients, providing them with expert legal guidance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on water law or environmental law.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal water laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
