Location

Duties

  • Represent injured workers in hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings

  • Take depositions from claimants, medical professionals, and other parties

  • Draft legal documents including appeals, rebuttals, memoranda of law, and settlement agreements

  • Conduct legal research and stay up to date on relevant legal developments

  • Answer client inquiries and guide them through the workers' compensation process

  • Negotiate settlements to secure appropriate benefits and care for clients

  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient case management

  • Provide strategic legal direction and representation throughout the claim process

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (recent graduates awaiting admission may be considered)

  • Experience or strong interest in workers’ compensation or litigation preferred

  • Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and litigation skills

  • Ability to manage caseload independently while working within a team environment

  • Commitment to client service and a compassionate, empathetic demeanor

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active New York State Bar License or pending admission
