Job Title: Oil and Gas Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Oil and Gas Attorney licensed in Texas or New Mexico with at least 8 years of experience practicing oil and gas law. The ideal candidate should have extensive familiarity with Permian Basin operators and demonstrate excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills. They must collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment, adapt to new software and technologies, and exhibit a strong commitment to client service.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in the oil and gas industry.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and leases.
• Advise clients on regulatory compliance, land use issues, and environmental regulations related to oil and gas operations.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and litigation about oil and gas disputes.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including attorneys, legal professionals, and business support specialists, to address client needs effectively.
• Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and oil and gas law best practices.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas or New Mexico.
• Minimum 8 years of experience practicing oil and gas law, focusing on the Permian Basin.
• Excellent communication and writing skills, with a keen analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to adapt to new software and technologies relevant to the legal profession.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.

Education and Certifications:
