Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution, including investigation, discovery, motions practice, drafting pleadings, and trial preparation.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on case progress, discussing strategies, and addressing client concerns.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, and other relevant parties.
• Conduct interviews and depositions of witnesses, parties, and non-parties to further the discovery process.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials, presenting evidence and arguments to support the client's position.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and client correspondence.
• Research and analyze case law, statutes, judicial decisions, and other legal resources to develop effective defense strategies.
• Stay updated on changes in insurance law and civil procedure to ensure compliance with all legal standards.
• Adhere to client billing protocols and submit billable time accurately within the case management system.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and effectively communicate findings.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing case files.
• Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads efficiently and work within established processes.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.

Skills:

• Expertise in insurance defense litigation and civil procedure.
• Strong research skills with a focus on statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to work effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
