Job Overview: The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, appearing at court hearings, and negotiating settlements. They will work closely with clients, providing practical, cost-effective strategies and advice for resolving legal disputes.

Job Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents related to litigation cases.
  • Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and investigations.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or arbitration proceedings.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on litigation matters.
  • Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members on case strategy and execution.
  • Stay updated on changes in federal and state court rules and procedures.
  • Perform legal research using databases and other resources.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in the state of Massachusetts.
  • 2+ years of experience practicing litigation law with excellent trial experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Experience in insurance defense and civil litigation is a plus.
