Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Attorney in Trenton, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of personal injury cases, including auto, motorcycle, truck, and slip-and-fall accidents, from intake to verdict or settlement. This role requires a compassionate and self-motivated individual who can work collaboratively with a team of paralegals and legal assistants.

Duties

Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide advice.
Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.
Review discovery documents and determine the best course of action for each client.
Conduct full depositions and oral hearings of case witnesses and experts.
Prepare all necessary documents for case filings.
Collaborate with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare comprehensive briefs for trial.
Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences.
Supervise two paralegals.

Requirements

5+ years of plaintiff's personal injury experience.
Licensed to practice in New Jersey.
Proficiency in negotiating settlements with insurance carriers.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and case management systems.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Experience with trials and a collaborative team player.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to travel to court.
Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
