Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join their team. The candidate will work alongside the current team of litigation attorneys, tackling complex factual, legal, and logistical issues. Responsibilities include managing plaintiff personal injury caseloads from the claim process through litigation and trial, interacting and negotiating with insurance companies and defense counsel, drafting legal documents, conducting and defending depositions, representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and jury trials, and ensuring compliance with all legal standards and regulations.

Duties:

• Work side-by-side with the current team of litigation attorneys.
• Manage plaintiff personal injury caseloads from the claim process through litigation and trial.
• Interact and negotiate with insurance companies and defense counsel.
• Communicate and maintain positive client relationships.
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as required.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and jury trials.
• Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of personal injury litigation experience.
• Active license to practice law in Missouri.
• Preferably an active license in Kansas.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Missouri.
• Preferably an active license in Kansas.
