A law firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney for their Houston, TX office. The Intellectual Property Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support on various aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, to clients in diverse industries.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on intellectual property issues
  • Prepare and file patent applications, trademark applications, and copyright registrations
  • Assist with patent prosecution and trademark prosecution before relevant authorities
  • Handle intellectual property litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Negotiate and draft intellectual property agreements, such as licensing agreements and technology transfer agreements
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on intellectual property protection and enforcement strategies
  • Conduct due diligence for intellectual property transactions and corporate mergers and acquisitions
  • Stay updated on developments in intellectual property law and industry trends

 

Requirements:

  • Member of the State Bar of California, admitted in good standing
  • Eligible to practice law in California, or eligibility subject to successful completion of the California Bar Examination
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • 2-4 years of experience practicing intellectual property law, preferably in a law firm setting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Membership in the State Bar of California
