They should be a self-starter with a solid academic background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work seamlessly with clients.

 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Prepare and draft estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and advance directives.
  • Counsel clients on probate and estate administration matters.
  • Assist clients with the creation and administration of trusts.
  • Handle probate proceedings and represent clients in probate court.
  • Conduct legal research on estate planning and probate issues.
  • Provide guidance on tax planning related to estates and trusts.
  • Collaborate with financial planners, accountants, and other professionals.
  • Review and analyze estate planning documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide ongoing legal advice.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Must possess 5+ years of experience in estate planning and probate.
  • Solid understanding of Trust and Estate law.
  • Strong writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.

 

Education:
