General Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a General Litigation Associate Attorney with the following responsibilities, requirements, and qualifications:

Job Overview:

The General Litigation Associate Attorney will represent clients in court, prepare cases for trial, and defend challenging cases involving various tort claims. Additionally, they will support client development and marketing efforts while continuously developing their legal skills through in-house mentoring and training.

Duties:

• Represent clients in court
• Depose witnesses, including expert witnesses, as appropriate
• Prepare cases for trial and assist at trial
• Defend challenging cases involving consumer claims, breach of contract claims, general negligence claims, and other tort claims
• Update clients through case reporting and telephone conferences about significant developments in litigation
• Support client development and marketing efforts
• Develop legal skills through in-firm mentoring and training sessions

Requirements:

• 1-10 years of experience in a general litigation firm
• Legal research, drafting pleadings motions, and other documents
• Taking and defending depositions
• Drafting and answering discovery requests
• Trial preparation and trial assistance
• Experience with both state and federal courts preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues
• Admission to the State Bar of California is required
• 3+ years of litigation experience
• Bar admission in the State of California
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school

• Strong writing skills to communicate effectively with the court, clients, and opposing counsel
