The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of litigation matters with a focus on medical malpractice cases. The Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney will be expected to independently manage and handle litigation tasks, including depositions, pre-trial discovery, mediations, trials, and more. The candidate must possess strong research, legal brief writing, and communication skills. The role involves general litigation motion writing, courtroom oral skills, and a solid understanding of medical records. Familiarity with Michigan Court Rules, Rules of Evidence, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is essential, and the candidate should be comfortable adapting to new computer software.

 

Job Details:

  • Conducted depositions and managed all aspects of pre-trial and trial preparation.
  • Handle general litigation motion writing and oral advocacy in the courtroom.
  • Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal briefs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in communication, both written and verbal
  • Possess a general understanding of medical records
  • Stay updated on Michigan Court Rules and Rules of Evidence
  • Utilize working knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Adapt to and learn new computer software as required

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school
  • 2-5 years of experience in a medical malpractice litigation practice
  • Membership in good standing and active participation in the Michigan Bar
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
