Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney to assist clients with tax matters related to renewable energy transactions. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of experience in a law firm setting, with expertise in tax credit transactions, tax equity financings, and tax opinion letters. An LL.M. in taxation is preferred, along with excellent academic credentials.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on tax issues related to renewable energy transactions.
  • Guide begin construction requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and apprenticeship requirements under code sections 45 and 48.
  • Assist in M&A transactions, tax equity transactions, tax credit transfers, and other joint ventures related to renewable energy.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on tax laws and regulations affecting renewable energy projects.
  • Draft legal documents, agreements, and tax opinions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of experience practicing law in a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency in tax credit transactions, tax credit transfers, tax equity financings, and tax opinion letters.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, particularly concerning renewable energy.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred).
